Years ago, Master Kurt Vonnegut came up with an analysis of the Shape of Stories that we felt would be very cool to share with you!
Fantastic Bit of Wisdom from Accents Publishing Senior Editor
With all the whining and time management talks Justin and Ryan have been giving on the podcast, this is a bit of a different perspective from Accents Publishing Senior Editor, and Amazing Writer
Much thanks to
Time – I wish I had an hour for every time I’ve heard someone say “I don’t have time to write.” Remember – having time doesn’t guarantee that you will actually write. It takes a real writer to stick with writing and persist with it amidst the multitude of her obligations. This is important, because if you don't write when you don't have time for it, you won't write when you do have time for it. Whether they realize it or not, when people say “I don’t have time for writing,” in many cases they actually mean “today I made choices for my time which left my mind and body with no power to sustain in me the desire to write.” My advice is to use the busy periods of your life as opportunities to develop your writer’s will and to strengthen your commitment to your art. In that way you will tremendously increase your chances for a productive creative life when your schedule does lighten up.
Neil Gaiman's Calendar of Tales
The most recent video update for Neil Gaiman's Calendar of Tales project.
He's gone past the writing part. The twelve stories are done and available for free download here, but now Mr.Gaiman is looking for illustrators to tackle these tales. This is a very interesting time to be a creative mind. Between this and Rob Liefield's EXTREME TALENT CONTEST there seem to be all sorts of opportunities available for those of us with the itch.
